The rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint, keeping the head of your upper arm bone firmly within the shallow socket of the shoulder. Most rotator cuff injuries cause a dull ache in the shoulder, which often worsens with use of the arm away from the body.
A common cause of pain and weakness in the shoulder, rotator cuff injuries can occur as the result of over use or trauma.
An orthopedic shoulder doctor will perform a physical examination and may order X-rays. An X-ray is used to check for a bone spur. An ultra sound or MRI may also be ordered so a doctor can fully evaluate the locations and extent of soft tissue damage in the shoulder.
An injured rotator cuff can get worse over time. A patient’s shoulder could continue to weaken and the injury could lead to a progressive shoulder joint degeneration. A torn rotator cuff tendon could also continue to tear over time.
Early treatment for a rotator cuff or shoulder joint disorder is very important and can prevent your disorder from getting worse over time.

Dr. Raz Winiarsky – Google Reviews
Excellent staff, very professional, Dr. Winiarsky is a wonderful doctor. I was impressed with his level of expertise and knew I was in the right hands. He’s eager to restore and repair you to good health. I read the post op report and saw that he took extra consideration as he repaired my tear and ensured somethings that would help me in the future. I’d love to see him again-if I’m not injured.
